1. Agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Md Mahabubur Rahman ("Locknest", "we"), an independent developer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, covering the Locknest mobile app, this website and the services behind them. By installing or using Locknest you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and is part of these terms.

2. Who may use Locknest

You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, or use Locknest through an account a parent or legal guardian created for you. A parent who creates a child account accepts these terms on the child's behalf, confirms they hold parental responsibility, and is responsible for how the device is used.

3. What Locknest does — and does not — promise

Locknest blocks apps you choose during windows you set, limits how long or how often they can be opened, and shows you how you spend screen time. To do that it needs the permissions the app asks for (Usage Access, drawing over other apps, notifications). Without them it cannot block anything.

Strict Mode is deliberately hard to undo. When you activate it you choose a duration and whether a PIN can end it early. If you choose "no early exit", the session runs to the end and we cannot end it for you. You accept that consequence when you activate it. Do not rely on a blocked app for anything urgent during a Strict Mode session.

4. Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, give accurate details, keep your password private, and tell us if you believe it has been compromised. One person may hold one account. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account, which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Run-time points, ads and referrals

Locknest is free. Blocking runs on run-time points: one point is spent per calendar day the app is in use, and you top up by watching rewarded ads or inviting friends. The current rules are:

1. Points have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or refunded, and are not a currency or a deposit.
2. The numbers above are delivered to the app as remote configuration and may change. Days you have already earned are not taken away by a rule change.
3. A day is credited only when an ad runs to completion. Ads are served by Google AdMob; we do not control their availability, and no day is deducted when no ad can be loaded.
4. Watching ads must be genuine. Automated, scripted or fraudulent ad activity — or anything that causes an ad network to treat our traffic as invalid — may result in forfeited points and suspension.
5. A referral code may be redeemed once per person. Redeeming your own code, or using multiple accounts or devices to farm referral credit, is prohibited and we may reverse any credit it produced.
6. Children's accounts are never shown ads and cannot earn or need points; their access is managed by their parent.

6. Family controls

Family features let a parent set rules for, and see the app usage of, a child's device. You may only use them on devices you own or are legally responsible for, with a child in your parental care, and in line with the law where you live. Locknest must not be used to monitor another adult without their knowledge and consent.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

1. interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, its servers, or other users' data;
2. reverse-engineer, tamper with or redistribute the app except where the law expressly permits it;
3. use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes someone else's rights.

8. Changes and availability

We may add, change or withdraw features, and may remotely pause blocking or put the service into maintenance when needed for safety or stability. We may require an update to keep using the app. We will try to give notice of material changes in the app or on this page.

9. Intellectual property

Locknest, its name, logo, design and code are ours or our licensors'. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you control, for its intended purpose. Nothing here transfers ownership.

10. Disclaimer

Locknest is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any block cannot be circumvented. Locknest is a digital-wellbeing aid, not medical, psychological or professional advice.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for loss of data, or for loss arising from an app being blocked or not blocked, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the previous twelve months — which, as Locknest is free, is nil. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.

12. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Locknest and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, abuse the points or referral system, or expose the service or other users to risk. Sections 5, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
